Easier street closures for porchfest hosts

District residents can apply through the block party process to close the street they live on for a porchfest. A porchfest is a free neighborhood music event on private porches or yards, or on nearby public space. No fees can be charged to performers or attendees. The law adds porchfests to the District’s policy to approve block parties. This temporary law lasts 225 days from its effective date.
