Shorter leases qualify businesses for corridor grants

The law lowers the Rhode Island Avenue Support Grant Program’s minimum lease term from 10 years to 5 years. An existing lease must have at least 3 years left when the application period closes. This lets businesses with shorter leases meet the program’s lease requirement. The law takes effect after mayoral approval or a Council veto override and a 30-day congressional review period. It expires 225 days after taking effect.
