Arena visitors face tighter playing-surface access

At Downtown Arena, 601 F Street, N.W., entering any part of the playing surface requires express permission from the operator or its authorized agents. At Southeast Arena, 1100 Oak Drive, S.E., permission must come from the Washington Convention and Sports Authority, the arena lessee or operator, or their authorized agents. These restrictions apply at all times, not just during events. The playing surface includes the area enclosed by the seating, as the seating layout changes. The law takes effect after mayoral approval or a veto override and a 30-day congressional review. It expires 225 days after taking effect.
