Affordable rental homes in Reservoir District

The law designates the Reservoir District property as affordable housing, with rents governed by HUD's Fair Market Rents. One-third of its operating rental homes must be set aside as affordable. These homes must be available to households qualifying for HUD's 80% of area median income category. Eligibility uses HUD's annual income limits for the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD rental market. The emergency law takes effect upon mayoral approval or a veto override and lasts no more than 90 days.
