The law approves three changes to the District’s Verizon contract. It authorizes payments for goods and services and sets a $9.68 million cap for March 8, 2025 through March 7, 2026. A two‑week, no‑cost extension of option year 3 (March 8–22, 2025) is replaced by a funded option year 4. The Council approval is required because the contract rises by more than $1 million in 12 months. It takes effect immediately to keep services running.
