Updated federal rules for truckers

Georgia now uses the federal trucking and hazardous materials safety rules that were in effect on January 1, 2025. This replaces the prior January 1, 2024 baseline in state law. Commercial motor carriers and drivers must follow any differences that came with the 2025 federal update. The law does not add new state fees or penalties.
