New technology fees for Spalding court users

Spalding County's Magistrate Court clerk can charge a technology fee of up to $15 for each civil case filed. The clerk can also add a separate technology surcharge of up to $15 to each fine assessed. The court's judge sets the amounts; the law does not state the actual charges. The clerk must keep this money in a separate account, used only for court technology as the chief judge directs. Allowed uses include computers, software, related equipment, technical support, and buying, leasing, maintaining, or installing covered equipment.
