Garden City closes its tourism authority

The law repeals the May 17, 2004 act creating the Garden City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Authority. All authority assets automatically transfer to Garden City, Georgia, subject to legal restrictions. The city also takes over the authority’s obligations, using any documents needed to keep those obligations in place. The City Council can sign asset and obligation transfer documents in the authority’s name. The law specifies no direct change to household taxes, benefits, or services.
