Muscogee County state court adds a judge
Beginning January 1, 2027, the State Court of Muscogee County has three judges. County voters elect the added judge in the 2026 nonpartisan general election under Georgia’s state court election rules. The four-year term starts January 1, 2027, and service continues until a successor is elected and qualified. The two judges serving on December 31, 2026, keep their elected or appointed terms. The added judge has the same powers, duties, authority, privileges, and legal protections as the other judges. The added judge also receives the same salary, extra pay, and expense allowances.
