More military scholarships with limits for cadets

The University of North Georgia military scholarship program can select extra recipients when funding is available. Total recipients cannot exceed 70% of Georgia Army National Guard cadets enrolled at the university or 210 people, whichever is lower. By February 1 each year, the scholarship authority must nominate 6–10 candidates per Georgia congressional district, recommended by state lawmakers. The committee must select three recipients per district; if too few qualify, it may select original nominees from other districts. For extra awards, the committee must aim for an even spread across districts and cadet class groups where practical. The authority must set eligibility and award rules. The committee must notify recipients, their districts’ state lawmakers, and the authority, including recipients’ names and addresses.
