Staggered four year terms for Liberty election board

The law sets standard four-year terms for Liberty County’s Board of Elections and Registration members. Members stay in office until their successors are appointed and qualified. Successors take office on January 1 after a term ends. When the terms that end on December 31, 2026 expire, the county appoints three successors to initial two-year terms that end December 31, 2028. After 2028, those seats return to the regular four-year cycle.
