The law ends elections for the Bartow County surveyor. The person elected and serving when the law took effect keeps the job until that term ends. The county board now appoints the surveyor for one-year terms, and each successor also serves one year. Appointees must meet the qualifications set in state law for county surveyors. Any older local laws that conflict with these rules no longer apply.
