Childcare families get yearly virus prevention guidance
Georgia child care learning centers and family child care learning homes must provide information about respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Each enrolled child’s parent or guardian must receive it by September 1 every year. The information must include prevention advice based on guidelines and recommendations from professional medical organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Annual Medicaid coverage reviews for sickle cell
Georgia’s Department of Community Health must review all Medicaid-covered medicines, treatments, and services for recipients with sickle cell disease annually. It must assess whether coverage is adequate and whether to add medicines, treatments, or services. It must seek and consider public input, especially from people and groups with sickle cell treatment knowledge or experience. By January 15 each year, it must send findings and recommendations to legislative leaders, who forward them to appropriate committees. It must also publish the report on its public website. The review itself does not change Medicaid coverage.
