Banks County changes commissioner district boundaries

Banks County now has five commissioner districts. Districts 1–4 follow the attached BanksCC-2025 plan, using 2020 Census voting areas, blocks, and city boundaries. District 5 covers the whole county, and its elected commissioner serves as board chair. Omitted areas, or areas not connected to their assigned district, join a bordering district with the lowest 2020 Census population. Districts 1–4 keep their numbers, and current commissioners represent the newly drawn districts. Current members and anyone filling a vacancy stay until their regular terms end and successors are elected and qualified. The law took effect upon the Governor’s approval or becoming law without approval.
