Small tech fee on Schley filings and fines
The Schley County probate judge can set a technology fee. It can be up to $5 for each civil filing, and up to $5 added to each fine. The clerk keeps this money in a separate account, and a county‑approved auditor reviews it. The money can pay only for court tech like computers, scanners, printers, communications gear, software, and digitizing records for public access. The power to charge this fee ends July 1, 2035. Any money left then stays dedicated to Schley County technology uses.
