Cobb hearings on large consultant spending

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners must hold a public hearing before spending $200,000 or more on an independent consultant, study, or survey. The board must publish the time and place at least 15 days before the hearing in a county newspaper. Consultants used for construction or renovation projects are exempt. This gives residents notice and a chance to weigh in on big consultant costs.
