Butts County now appoints county surveyor

The law abolishes the elected county surveyor in Butts County. The county government now appoints a qualified surveyor. Appointed surveyors serve one-year terms, and successors also serve one-year terms. Appointees must meet state law qualifications for county surveyors. The law takes effect when approved by the Governor or when it otherwise becomes law. Any older local laws that conflict are repealed.
