Forsyth County State Court Adds Third Judge

Beginning July 1, 2026, Georgia’s Forsyth County State Court grows from two judges to three. The Governor appoints the third judge for an initial term running from July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2028. Qualified Forsyth County voters elect successors in nonpartisan elections held with the 2028 general primary and every four years afterward. Each elected judge serves a four-year term. The appointed and elected judges stay until their successors are elected and qualified to serve.
