Thomasville tourism businesses get more promotion
The law requires the City of Thomasville to spend at least 50% of the excise tax amount above what a 5% rate would raise on promoting tourism, conventions, and trade shows. The city’s designated destination marketing group, or a contractor it authorizes, uses the money. This rule applies each fiscal year the city collects this excise tax. The spending supports marketing for local tourism activities.
