Tift County judge pay and practice limits
The Tift County Board of Commissioners sets the State Court judge’s annual salary at no less than $100,000. Pay cannot exceed 75% of the state-paid annual salary for a Tifton Judicial Circuit Superior Court judge. The county pays from its general fund in 12 equal monthly installments. The State Court judge cannot practice law during the term of office.
Tift County prosecutor pay and full-time rules
Tift County’s solicitor-general, the State Court prosecutor, must serve full-time and receive at least $90,000 a year. The Tift County Board of Commissioners sets the exact salary, with no upper limit specified in this law. The county pays from its general fund in monthly installments.
