Direct appeals for specified court orders

You can file a direct appeal from any judgment or order made under Georgia Code 35-3-37. You can also appeal directly from any judgment or order made under Georgia Code 9-11-11.1. These cases use the direct-appeal process in Georgia law.

Direct appeals for immunity and privilege rulings

You can appeal directly when a civil court rules on immunity (sovereign, municipal, official, qualified, or judicial). File within 30 days. Each party can use this direct-appeal right only once per civil case. You can also appeal directly when a court rules on legislative privilege or legislative immunity in a civil or criminal case, within 30 days. This does not block other appeals allowed by law.
