Limited annexation exception for DeKalb residential parcels

The law exempts qualifying DeKalb annexations from the school district boundary-change rules in Section 3.2. The annexation must be made through a local law passed by the Georgia General Assembly. It must affect just one residential parcel no larger than one acre. No more than four annexations can receive this exemption per calendar year.

DeKalb school board voting limited to district

Only voters living within the DeKalb County school district can elect successors to board members serving when the law took effect. Those board members finish their existing terms. Their successors take office and serve the terms set by the existing act.
