Annexations are exempt from Section 3.2 when a local law of the Georgia General Assembly annexes a single residential parcel that is 1 acre or less. The exemption only applies to those local‑law cases. No more than four annexations each calendar year can use this exemption.
Only voters who live inside the DeKalb County school district elect future members of the DeKalb County Board of Education. Current members keep serving the rest of their elected terms. Successors take office and serve the terms set by this law.
