New pay rules for DeKalb courts

The yearly pay base is the higher of $218,990.30 or the highest state-funded Superior Court judge salary. DeKalb’s State, Probate, and Juvenile Court judges, Chief Magistrate, and Solicitor-General earn the higher of $208,040 or 90% of that base. Full-time associate magistrates earn 90% of the Chief Magistrate’s yearly salary. Part-time associate magistrates get an hourly rate matched to a full-time associate magistrate’s yearly salary. DeKalb County pays annual salaries from county funds in equal monthly payments.

New pay rules for DeKalb officials

The law sets a yearly pay base: the higher of $218,990.30 or the highest state-funded Superior Court judge salary. DeKalb County’s chief executive officer, district attorney, and sheriff each earn 100% of that base. The Superior Court clerk earns 80%, the tax commissioner 75%, and each county commissioner 32%. DeKalb County pays these salaries from county funds in equal monthly payments.
