DeKalb residents vote on joining Tucker

The law requires a November 3, 2026, vote by voters in the DeKalb County territory identified for annexation into Tucker. The area includes Briarlake Elem 021703 (block 1013) and Midvale Road 021820 (blocks 1000, 1001, 1002, 1004, 1005, 1006, 2007). The Tucker-Annex-2025 plan uses voting districts and city boundaries from the 2020 Census. The ballot asks whether voters approve adding this land to Tucker, with YES and NO choices. Annexation takes effect January 1, 2027, only if more than half of votes cast approve it. If more than half vote against it, the act is automatically repealed January 1, 2027. The election notice must appear in the county’s official publication once weekly for two consecutive weeks before the vote. Tucker pays election costs, and results must be certified to the Secretary of State. The law does not specify household tax or service changes.
