Minors can consent to STD care, not vaccines

Beginning 07/01/2026, if you are under 18, you can consent to STD prevention, testing, and treatment. You do not need a parent, guardian, or spouse to agree. This does not include STD vaccines; those still need adult consent. Your consent cannot be canceled later because of your age. Care must be at a hospital, clinic, or by a health care provider. A licensed doctor, physician assistant, or advanced registered nurse practitioner must give or supervise the care.
