More paid military leave for state workers

Beginning July 1, 2026, eligible state officers and employees who are current National Guard members or U.S. reservists get 160 hours of paid military leave each year, up from 120. The leave is for duty ordered or authorized by law and does not reduce your pay, time, or efficiency rating. If you work an uncommon tour of duty, your annual hours are prorated to your regular biweekly schedule, using federal OPM rules.
