Digital curriculum grants for Idaho schools

The state runs a fund for digital curriculum in public schools, managed by the Idaho Department of Education. Money can pay for reading and math tools, career and college readiness, career technical education, character education, and enrichment. It can also pay for books, reader supports, teaching tools, and parent engagement. Funds can go to all Idaho classrooms, including the state school for the deaf and blind. Money comes only from legislative appropriations, interest stays in the fund, and appropriated funds are continuously appropriated for these uses. LEAs request funds; awards are generally first‑come. If money runs short, the department ranks by need and when requests arrived. Starting July 1, 2026.

Rules and limits for digital curriculum grants

A single request for this grant cannot be more than $50,000, even for joint requests. To qualify, an LEA must have the tech to use the content and must explain how the purchase will improve student results. The application must list the amount, the content to buy, how it supports the LEA’s measurable targets in its continuous improvement plan, and how progress will be measured. After an initial award, an LEA can get more only if it met or is making demonstrable progress toward those targets. Starting July 1, 2026.
