The law provides $765,300 from the General Fund for staff pay from July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. It allocates $210,300 to the Compliance Division and $555,000 to General Services. This section takes effect upon enactment as an emergency, and the money can be used only in that period.
The law funds the Idaho State Tax Commission from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. It provides $1,941,400 for General Services: $550,000 from the General Fund, $109,400 from the Multistate Tax Compact Fund, $990,400 from the Administration Services for Transportation Fund, and $291,600 from the Seminars and Publications Fund. It also provides $353,000 from the General Fund for the Compliance Division and $50,000 from the Seminars and Publications Fund for the Property Tax program. Total funding across these programs is $2,344,400 for that year, and it can be used only in that period.
The law restricts $550,000 of the 2026–27 General Fund money so it can only pay the state’s tax collection system vendor. Any unused part of that $550,000 must return to the General Fund. The agency must report any returned amount to the Legislative Services Office.
