New caps and records for insurer investments

Beginning July 1, 2026, Idaho insurers can invest in assets not already listed as eligible, as long as they are not prohibited. Total holdings in this bucket are capped at the lesser of 10% of assets or 75% of capital and surplus, excluding surplus notes. No single investment, or one entity with its affiliates and subsidiaries (grouped by the first six CUSIP digits), may exceed 5% of assets. Insurers must keep a separate record of these investments.
