Fees after six lift-assist calls for care facilities

Cities and fire protection districts can charge assisted living and nursing home facilities for lift-assist calls. Fees start after the sixth lift-assist to the same facility in a calendar year. Fees can only cover actual staff and equipment costs. This does not apply when the person is taken to a hospital or emergency room.
