Registration fee waived for disabled veterans' military plate

Starting January 1, 2020, the law waives the registration fee for one military series plate. You must be a veteran with a VA-certified service-connected disability of 50% or more. It applies to one first-division vehicle or a second-division vehicle up to 8,000 pounds. You must apply as the Secretary of State requires. Extra issuance or renewal fees for the special plate still apply and are not waived.
