Oath required for community college trustees

Community college trustees must take an oath before starting their duties. The oath says they support the U.S. and Illinois Constitutions and will faithfully do the job. The board secretary, a notary, or another officer allowed by State law gives the oath. The signed oath must be filed with the board secretary and kept in the district’s official records. A trustee cannot act in the role until the oath is taken and filed.
