Summary

Creates the Standard Acceptance of Records from Fingerprint Vendors Act. Provides that, beginning January 1, 2027, a State agency, school district, or unit of local government must accept a fingerprint-based criminal history record check from any certified live scan fingerprint vendor if the State agency, school district, or unit of local government requires an individual to complete a fingerprint-based criminal history record check (1) to continue employment with the State agency, school district, or unit of local government or (2) to obtain employment, licensure, or a grant from the State agency, school district, or unit of local government. Provides that, on and after the effective date of the Act, a State agency, school district, or unit of local government may not enter into, amend, or renew a contract with a fingerprint vendor that prohibits or has the effect of prohibiting the State agency, school district, or unit of local government from accepting a fingerprint-based criminal history record check from any other certified live scan fingerprint vendor. Effective immediately.
