Easier to find Illinois state jobs

Beginning June 27, 2023, the Department of Central Management Services posts state job steps and rules online. All Jurisdiction B vacancies that are not exempt under Section 4c are posted so people can find and apply. Each posting shows the county for the job. Listings are updated at least weekly. If a position’s vacancy rate is 10% or more, it stays posted until it drops below 10%.

Veteran state workers get 4 medical days

If you are a State employee and a veteran, you may take up to 4 days each year for VA‑authorized medical care. You can use any health care provider or visit a VA hospital or clinic for a service‑connected condition. These 4 days do not count against your sick leave. This rule has been in effect since January 1, 2008.
