Farms removed from prison work rules

Beginning July 1, 2025, Indiana law no longer lists farms as part of the prison industry work program. Corrections officials retain authority to require people in custody to do general maintenance or work in department-run businesses. The law also removes farm-land lease revenue as a listed funding source for the program’s revolving fund.
