Racial deed limits void on school land

The law voids and makes unenforceable old deed rules set from January 1, 1948 to December 31, 1958. It applies only to land owned by a Kansas state educational institution. It covers covenants that both limit the land to single-family homes and include race-based bans on who can own or rent. Any amendments or add-ons to those covenants are also void. You cannot be blocked from buying or renting that property because of your race. The law takes effect upon publication in the Kansas Register.
