Baton Rouge sports tourism funding shifts

The law makes $100,000 each year available to Visit Baton Rouge from the East Baton Rouge Parish Enhancement Fund. The money supports promotion of athletic activities, facilities, and sporting events that attract visitors to the parish. State lawmakers must approve the funding each year. This replaces the Baton Rouge Sports Foundation allocation and excludes salary and benefits for that foundation’s executive director. It does not provide direct household payments.
