2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.
Louisiana sets nonrefundable fees for private security companies, guards, and instructors. Company licenses cost $500 initially and $410 to renew; guard registrations cost $75 initially and $65 to renew. Instructor licenses and renewals cost $110 for classroom instructors, $130 for baton instructors, and $160 for firearms instructors. Company or instructor exams cost $60; status changes, transfers, and reinstatements cost $30. Payments must be by check or electronic payment; money orders are no longer listed as an option. Upon enactment, these fees replace the prior statutory schedule and existing administrative fees under Louisiana’s private security rules. They do not replace administrative fees imposed after enactment unless the law provides otherwise.
The Louisiana Board of Private Security Examiners must post every fee it charges on a publicly accessible website. The list must include administrative fees and the legal authority for each charge. The board must regularly update the list to reflect changes in laws or rules. Updates must follow the Administrative Procedure Act.
