Louisiana ambulance rates become publicly available

Local governments that set ground ambulance rates must report them to Louisiana's Department of Insurance. Ambulance providers designated or contracted by local governments must also report rates they set for their service areas. Each submitter must certify that its rates are accurate and report changes. The department must post these rates online for public access, and insurers may rely on them in good faith. This law does not authorize regulation of ambulance services, emergency medical services, or ambulance operations located at manufacturing facilities solely for use there.
