The law sets maximum penalties for violations of St. Bernard Parish ordinance Chapters 5, 12, 19, 22, and most of Chapter 11. Covered violations carry up to a $1,500 fine, three months in parish jail, or both. Chapter 11 Sections 11-20(e) and 11-20(f), and Article VI, are excluded from this limit. The limit overrides conflicting laws but does not create new offenses.
