Louisiana requires permits and inspections for roofs

Louisiana municipalities and parishes that issue construction permits under the state construction code must permit and inspect roofing work. This covers both roof construction and reroofing. One- and two-family homes must meet International Residential Code Chapters 8 and 9. Other buildings must meet International Building Code Chapter 15. These requirements use the code versions adopted by the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council.
