Monson adds seats, staggers terms

The law increases Monson’s select board from 3 to 5 members. At the first annual town election after passage, voters elect 3 members. The top vote-getter serves 3 years, the second serves 2 years, and the third serves 1 year. After that, winners serve 3-year terms. Each year, the board selects a chair from among its members. The act takes effect upon its passage.
