Officer Jennifer O. Brown can work to 70

Officer Jennifer O. Brown can keep serving in Monterey until age 70 if she stays mentally and physically able. The appointing authority can approve or remove her and may pay for a fitness exam by the Berkshire County Retirement System. After she turns 65, no chapter 32 retirement deductions come out of her regular pay. When she retires, she gets the same superannuation allowance she would have gotten at age 65. If a neutral doctor finds she is not able to serve, she is retired for superannuation; that finding alone does not count as a disability under chapter 32. The law takes effect upon passage.
