Marion shop gains license option with limits

Marion can grant C & J Sull LLC, doing business as J. Sull Wine, an additional take-away alcohol license. It covers all alcoholic beverages at 119 Wareham Road, Unit 105, for drinking elsewhere. The initial license must be issued within one year after the law takes effect. The business must physically return its existing take-away wine-and-malt-beverages license when the new license is issued. The new license cannot move to another location. Marion can grant it to a replacement applicant at the same address. That applicant must provide letters from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue and Department of Unemployment Assistance. These must confirm the license is in good standing and all applicable taxes, fees, and contributions are paid. If the license ends, is not renewed, is canceled or revoked, or goes unused, it must be physically returned. Marion then has three years to reissue it at the same address under the same conditions; otherwise, it dissolves. Replacement licenses can be granted after the initial one-year deadline if the original license was issued on time. Other state alcohol-license rules apply, except General Laws chapter 138, section 17.
