Extra Costco liquor license in Southborough

The law took effect upon passage. Southborough can grant Costco Atlantic Liquors, Inc., doing business as Costco Liquors, one extra license at 21 Coslin Drive. It allows sales of all alcoholic beverages for drinking away from the store. Massachusetts General Laws chapter 138 applies, except section 17. The license must first be issued within 2 years after the law takes effect and cannot move to another location. A new applicant at the same location must provide letters from the Department of Revenue and Department of Unemployment Assistance. These letters must confirm good standing and payment of all applicable taxes, fees, and contributions. If terminated, not renewed, canceled, revoked, or no longer used, the license must be returned with its rights and restrictions. Southborough can reissue it at the same location under the same conditions within 3 years after return; otherwise, it dissolves. Once first issued within the 2-year deadline, the license can later go to a new applicant under these rules.
