Free Blue Star plates for fallen officers' families

The RMV provides one free “Blue Star Family” plate for one private passenger car, or a free emblem for one motorcycle plate. You must be the parent, child, or spouse of a law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty. For this law, that status applies if your family is eligible for benefits under section 100A of chapter 32. You must own and mainly use the vehicle or motorcycle and show proof to the RMV. The plate can have up to 6 characters, and it is limited to one vehicle per eligible person.
