State now maintains Town Line and Linden brooks

The law puts the state conservation agency in charge of flood‑control assets at Town Line Brook and Linden Brook. It does not include the 8 box culverts built into the Cutler Bridge or the upstream trash racks. The agency inspects and does routine maintenance at least twice a year and pays for inspections, maintenance, repairs, reconstruction, and emergency fixes. After any inspection, it must send a report within 90 days to MassDOT and to the mayors and city council presidents of Malden, Revere, and Everett. It must give those officials written notice of maintenance or repairs and let city officials watch the work. MassDOT must let staff cross the Cutler Bridge and other DOT property with normal permits. The conservation agency also works with MassDOT to provide access through the flood gates for inspections and repairs.

State transportation agency maintains Cutler Bridge

The state transportation agency has care and control of the Cutler Bridge, including the 8 box culverts and the upstream trash racks. It must inspect and do routine maintenance at least twice each year, and handle repairs, reconstruction, and emergency fixes as needed. The agency pays the costs for these inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
