Beginning July 1, 2025, Dorchester County Class A license holders can get a beer, wine, and liquor tasting license. They can offer only drinks their Class A license allows them to sell. Tastings must be free, and customers must drink the samples on the licensed premises. The license costs $150 for up to 15 tastings per year or $250 for up to 30. Each person’s beer limit is 3 ounces per offering and 8 ounces per day. Wine limits are 1 ounce per offering and 4 ounces per person daily; liquor limits are 0.5 and 1.5 ounces, respectively. Holders must notify the Board of License Commissioners in writing at least 7 days before each event. They must dispose of drinks left in containers opened for tasting at the end of that day. The Board can require its application form and deny a license, but applicants can resubmit. The Board can skip a public hearing unless the applicant requests one. Holders can renew the tasting license alongside their Class A license, subject to their Class A status.
