Scholarship access expands to Meritus students

Beginning July 1, 2025, the law adds Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine to Maryland’s Graduate and Professional Scholarship Program. Full-time and part-time students must be Maryland residents and show financial need under the Commission’s criteria. Program awards range from $1,000 to $5,000 per school year, with an eight-semester limit. Funding comes from the state budget, and the Commission must allocate grants based on each institution’s share of eligible Maryland residents. The Commission sets award guidelines, and schools receiving grants must submit annual audits showing how they used the money.
