More repair contract protections for vehicle owners

Beginning October 1, 2025, Maryland adds protections for vehicle owners with mechanical repair contracts. Contracts cannot exclude coverage solely because a vehicle problem appears in a technical service bulletin. Providers and guarantors cannot deny claims solely because the diagnosed problem appears in such a bulletin. Other valid reasons for denying coverage still apply, so the law does not guarantee every repair is covered.
